WRITER’S STUDIO

A dark, enigmatic shape in the woods, the writer’s studio imbues minimal design with iconic force.

At the juncture between open vistas to a pond and deep woods, this small studio offers a place of solitude to write, read and listen to music. The interior is uncluttered and elegant, unified by the use of walnut and black slate. Minimalist detailing, open corners and transparency running the length of the building play against the simplicity of this box-like structure. The slatted pattern of the exterior extends to the interior further blurring the delineation between the two. The rigorous orthogonal geometry is juxtaposed with the dynamic sculptural forms of a series of custom-designed furniture pieces.
